For Immediate Release March 16 2009, Hillier, ON - Caroline Granger, President and CEO, Grange of Prince Edward Vineyards & Estate Winery announced today that one of her soon to be released premium wines, to be bottled under the new Grange label, has already received accolades, winning a coveted medal at the Cuvee Awards, the "Oscars" of the Ontario wine industry. Grange 2007 Cabernet Franc VQA was awarded a bronze medal by a prestigious judging panel comprised of winemakers from Niagara and Erie North Shore regions. The Grange was the only winery from Prince Edward County to enter the competition.
She went on to say "This award recognizes the maturing of Ontario's newest wine region, Prince Edward County. It demonstrates the excellence coming from all the Ontario regions, providing residents and visitors alike with premium wines, right in their own backyard." Grange winemaker Jeff Innes was in attendance when the award was announced. "This is absolutely great for our winery and for our region" he said. "A Cuvee award winning wine from Prince Edward County proves without a doubt that we can produce world-class fruit and world-class wine." The Grange of Prince Edward Vineyards & Estate Winery is a family run business, operating on a 600 acre family farm In Hillier, Prince Edward County.
